Some of the projects that The Active Foundation Trust is involved with:

CLOTHING

We collect new and second hand items of clothing, linen, crockery, furniture and other house hold items in order to redistribute them to those in need. We have handed out clothing to those in need over the last 9 years and we hope to continue and grow this initiative as we have seen people gain a sense of dignity as they are able to dress well and look presentable.

OUTREACH

The Active Foundation Trust runs community projects in order to collect basic food essentials and the trust has provided many underprivileged families with food packs, allowing them to feed their families on a regular basis while trying to find their feet. This allows them to focus on other areas such as finding jobs or studying.

During the year, The Active Foundation Trust focuses on collecting toys, food and treats to hand out to the under privileged on Christmas day.

We have a large focus on the youth of South Africa.
We spend a lot of time building into the children in children’s homes in the South of Johannesburg. Over the last 11 years we have worked with St Mary’s Children’s home and Cotlands. We work with the children teaching them that their past does not have to determine their future.
We also teach them basic life and social skills. We mentor the children and build leadership skills into them allowing them to live their dreams and be all that they can be all the while encouraging, motivating and teaching them that they are valued and loved.

The Active Foundation Trust spends a lot of time in the community. We have youth programs on the weekends where we run sporting activities in the local park in Turffontein Johannesburg. We have also had to raise funding in order to maintain and repair the parks sporting facilities. On average there are approximately 50 youth attending each weekend.

We aim to grow this initiative to other local parks in the Johannesburg area which will keep the youth of our country off the streets and out of trouble.

The Active Foundation Trust also strives to assist people with medical needs. The trust has been involved in several situations where we have helped people to get the following:
Glasses
Dentures and dental assistance for two young men
Medical assistance with a General Practitioner for several people in need
Transportation to place of medical care

One Block Can Change a Nation

ONE BLOCK CAN CHANGE A NATION We believe by changing our block, we can influence the next block to do the same and the block after that to follow and so on. We aim to create awareness to every resident in any neglected area that they can improve their living conditions and create better living for themselves. We can do this by assisting them in cleaning up their communities and creating an environment that accommodates business and is suitable for residential usage.

In doing so we will bring change that will benefit the city in both health and social development by improving the environment. The trust will elevate people from poverty not by giving them money and handouts alone, but by teaching them good morals and how to create and build better living conditions for themselves.

The Active Foundation Trust strives to take places that are neglected, places that are unpleasant for people to live in and places that are a health hazard and transform them into a suitable environment for people to live in.

We believe that by bringing value to an area we create wealth opportunities for the people in it.

The Active Foundation Trust undertook a project to give the community in Selby Johannesburg a “facelift”. We physically removed rubble and laid stone to the side walk of a section in Loveday Street South. The trust raised funds in order to purchase the stone, plants and equipment needed.

The trust is still raising funds in order to purchase heavy duty equipment like petrol Weed Eaters, Lawn Mowers etc. in order for us to extend the project in Loveday Street South.

The Active Foundation Trust truly believes that indeed “one block can change a nation!” We Believe that there will be victory in us changing one block, person or situation at a time.
